Berastagi/Lake Toba/Samosir Island

Day 01 Airport/Berastagi (94km Approx 2hr 40min) (-)

 

Upon arrival at Kuala Namu International airport, meet and greet our representative, pick up and proceed approximately 62.9km to the cool highland town of Berastagi, a remarkable mountain scenery and refreshing weather. The landscape here is dominated by distant views of the smoking volcanoes Mt Sinabung and Mt Sibayak, with welcome snack box and daily mineral water.


On the western edge of the town, Gundaling Hill rises above the surrounding plateau to provide some spectacular views of these two towering volcanoes.  After the plateau view, transfer to local restaurant to have lunch.  


After lunch, proceed for city tour in Berastagi, visit Fruits, Flowers & Vegetables Market and shopping tour.

 

Then enjoy SADO TRIP, a horse and cart ride (at own cost) in Berastagi. Transfer to hotel, check in hotel. Free and easy till evening.

 

Night visit and enjoy the SPA & Hot Springs. Have dinner and transfer to hotel.


(Optional for Honeymoon/Anniversary- romantic moments with flower petal beddings, a small cake and fruits arranged in the room.) Overnight in Berastagi.

Day 02    Berastagi/Lake Toba/Samosir Island (70km Approx 2hr 40min) (B)

 

After breakfast, check out from hotel, proceed to Sipiso-piso waterfall with its incredible lake toba view & tongging village. Enjoy Lake Toba, take a visit to Simarjarunjung Hill, where you can taste Fried Banana & Bandrek while enjoying the magnificient scenery of Lake Toba (at own cost). 


Drive to Parapat via Tebing Tinggi, on the way stop at several plantation for rubber, cocoa and palm oil. Arriving at Parapat, transfer to local restaurant to have lunch. After lunch, cross the lake via Ferry to Samosir Island. Enjoy Lake Toba on the ferry journey. Arriving Samosir Island, check into hotel, refres and relax. After a short relaxation, go for Cycling for more fun thing to do in Samosir Island. After tour, transfer to hotel. Have dinner and Overnight in Samosir Island. 

Day 03      Samosir Island                            (B)

 

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion by car and boat on Lake Toba. Visit several Batak Toba traditional villages.

 

Later, proceed to visit traditional villages like Ambarita, Tomok Village and enjoy the Simanindo, Batak Toba traditional dance (Tor Tor) and the Museum. Shop the local Handicrafts till evening.   


In Tomok, many merchants sells weaved clothes, such as sarung, scarf like cloth and many traditional Bataknese handicrafts. Have lunch and proceed. One notable item not to be found anywhere else in Indonesia, even in Medan city or Parapat city is the so called fragrant cloth. The item is made of sandalwood fibre woven into cloth. The sellers claim that the sandalwood odor will not be diminished even after washing or laundry. Transfer to hotel. Have dinner and Overnight in Samosir Island.

Day 04    Samosir Island/Medan  (178 km Approx 6hr)        (B)

 

After breakfast,check out and proceed to Medan, the capital of Indonesia’s North Sumatra province. Arrrive Medan, transfer to hotel, check in, refresh and relax. 


After a short relaxation, proceed for tour in Medan city. Start with Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in the city of Medan, built in 1881 near the river, similar to the Sri Mariamman Hindu temple in Singapore and Penang, Malaysia by the Tamil ancestors from India as a form of respect and worship of the goddess Kali.

 

Tamils ​​began to settle in this area around the 19th century, when the Sultanate of Deli gained economic prosperity after tobacco Deli sold on the world market. The economic achievements, invited the interest of Tamils ​​to come to the territory of the Sultan of Deli. Now, the region is not only inhabited by descendants of the Tamil but also residents of Chinese descent, Aceh, Java, Batak, and Malay.

 

The huge Maimun Palace, a royal house for Sultanate of Deli from Medan, South  Sumatra, built by the sultan of Deli in 1888. The grand 30-room Palace was Malay, Mogul and Italian influences architecture features. Only the main room, which features the lavish inauguration throne, is open to the public. About 100 meters from the palace, stands the Mosque of Al-Maksum known as the Great Mosque of Medan.

 

The Octagonal Great Mosque of Medan dominates the city center, combining Islamic and European styles. Just north are Jalan Selat Panjang street, famed for its ethnic food stalls, and Tjong A Fie Mansion, a museum in a former Chinese merchant’s home.


Day 05    Samosir Island/Departure                 (B)


After breakfast, free and easy till transfer to Kuala Namu International Airport for evening flight.
