Armenia Classic  and Skiing Tour

Day 01 Airport/Yenokavan (-)


Upon arrival at  Yeveran Airport, meet and greet our representative, drive approximately (145km, 2hrs 20min), transfer to hotel. Free and easy at own leisure. Overnight in Yenokavan.


Day 02 Yenokavan/ Zip Line Tour (B/L)


After breakfast, Check out and wait at the hotel lobby. Our driver will pick you up from the hotel and proceed to your adventure destination, the Yell Extreme Park in Yenokavan to experience one of the region's longest zip lines during this private zip-lining experience in Yerevan. It reaches a speeds of up to 140 kilometers (87 miles) per hour along two lines, one that passes under a bridge, a favorite among nature lovers and thrill seekers, for an exhilarating zip line tour above lush forests, rocky cliffs and a winding river, a flight sure to leave you with a rush of adrenaline and lasting impressions.


Yell Extreme Park, located in a region of Armenia known for its gorgeous forested mountains, has made a name for itself as an adventure park providing a full range of extreme outdoor activities. The zip line, a dizzying ‘sky bridge’ of ropes and cables, remains their most popular attraction. 


Upon arrival, an experienced guide will give you an orientation with instructions, safety rules and explanation of zip line equipment. The zip line experience includes five different zip lines, in addition to a low training cable to practice the techniques that you will be using on the tour. The zip lines range from 135 meters (443 feet) to 750 meters (2,460 feet) in length. You can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers an hour at heights of 200 – 300 meters above the ground, that will take your love of adventure, mountains and travel to whole new heights! 


After each zip line, you will have time to enjoy the amazing views. As you go along, your guide will point out interesting highlights and share facts pertaining to the region’s geology, wildlife and history.  Later, have lunch, as this tour includes transportation, park entrance fees and a picnic lunch. After lunch, transfer to hotel. Overnight in Dilijan.


Note: Other extreme activities such as rock climbing, zorbing, a rope park and paragliding are also available at the adventure park and may be substituted for the zip line upon request and at own cost.

Day 03 Dilijan/Lake Sevan-“Armenian Switzerland ” (B)


After breakfast, drive to Lake Sevan, one of the wonders in Armenia, one of the greatest high mountainous freshwater lakes of Eurasia. On a clear and sunny day, the water is often seen of a deep turquoise colour. Total surface of the lake is 940 km2 . Climb on peninsula, from where opens a fascinating and breathtaking view on Sevan Lake. Visit Sevanavank Monastery (9th century), which stands in its greatness on the peninsula, overlooking the lake for centuries. Drive to the mountainous resort Dilijan, or so called “Armenian Switzerland”, which is well-known for its forests, as well as for its mysterious flora and fauna. Small walking city tour in Dilijan with a visit to, where one can watch the preparation of different national souvenirs from wood, stone and ceramics. 


Next, visit the Haghartsin Monastery complex, located in a secluded place of a forest, built in 2005. which is hidden and appears unexpectedly in front of the visitors, out of the dense forests. The Monastery creates a magical impression of a lost world. His Royal Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi made a generous donation for certain renovation works and preservation of this monastery, representing the rich history of the human kind. Complex includes Church St. Stepanos, St. Mary and St. Gregory’s Church, as well as a famous refectory. Transfer to Dilijan. Overnight in Dilijan

Day 04 Dilijan/Tsaghkadzor (B)


After breakfast, our driver will pick you up, drive to Tsaghkadzor, a centuries-old history. Tsaghkhadzor ski resort is probably the most well-known skiing and snowboarding place in Armenia, located in Kotayk province of Armenia which is only 60km away from the capital city Yerevan.


Even though there might be other more famous destinations for skiing, Armenia is on its way of becoming popular. Having two best Ski Resorts, the Tsaghkhadzor skir resort and the Jermuk ski resort for sport lovers to appreciate Armenia as a beautiful  skiing destination. The best skiing time in Armenia starts in November/December and can last until March, or even mid-April. During that time, these towns turn into some of the most popular tourist centers in Armenia. 


The sporting facilities in Tsaghkadzor were initially built to prepare Soviet athletes for the 1988 Winter Olympics. Later, the town was developed into a ski resort, and the old lifts were replaced with modern ones. There are about 30km of slopes and 6 lifts available for skiing and snowboarding. The area is situated between the elevations of 1966 and 2819 meters (853 meter difference). About half of the slopes are easy and half of them are intermediate in terms of difficulty. 


Armenia is most perceived as Sunny Armenia by the travelers but it is a very hospitable country in the Caucasus. You can have a good rest not only in summer and spring, but at any time around the year. Winter in Armenia can give every tourist no less, and maybe even more vivid impressions and emotions. If you want sparkling white snow, the purest mountain air is one of the best ski resorts in the world.

 

Each settlement in Armenia is a history, legend, tradition, heady aroma of wine and freshly baked bread. No travel guide will be able to cover all the sights of this amazing country.


Besides being a ski resort, Tsaghkadzor is also known for the Kecharis Monastery (11th-13th centuries), which you should not miss to visit. It's construction began under Armenian Prince Pahlavuni and lasted for two centuries. The complex served as a major religious center of Armenia and was restored in the 20th century.


After having a wonderful time skiing, depart Tsaghkadzor to Yerevan in late afternoon. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Yeveran.

Day 05 Yerevan/Carpet Factory/Garni/Geghard/Yerevan (B)

 

After breakfast, visit the Armenian carpet factory with the possibility to watch the production of the handmade rugs. The factory has a showroom where purchases are offered (shipping of rugs to your country is possible). Visit the only remains of the Pagan temple in Armenia, devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth, in Garni. Photo stop at Charentc Arc. A visit to the ruins of Royal Palace and Royal bath-house nearby. 


Family hosted lunch in a private village house, with watching the preparation of “Lavash” (Armenian traditional flat bread baked in a stone-make oven) by countryside Armenian ladies using the same ancient technology as hundreds of years before. Continue the tour to the uniquely caved Geghard monastery, which dates back to 12th -13th centuries, the name of which means “holy spear” in the honour of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ, which were brought here by Apostle Thaddeus. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan. 

Day 06 Yerevan City Tour (B)


After breakfast, proceed for city tour in Yerevanon a panoramic view of the city and acquaintance with the Center of the city, starting with the Republic Square, the sightseeing of Opera and Ballet building, the Parliament and Residency of the President of Armenia, State University, Mother Armenia Monument, Sports & Concert Complex. A visit to Tsitsernakaberd, a Monument to the Armenian Genocide Victims, as well as the Genocide Victims’ Museum, commemorating the 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the first Genocide of the 20th century in the Western Armenia and in the territory of Ottoman Empire. Visit Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan. Cascade is home to Cafesjian modern art museum. This place becomes even more charming in the evenings, when it is full of people, both locals and tourists from all over the world, enjoying the magic and the warmth of the capital. You will enjoy spending time in one of the cosy cafes surrounded by beautiful sculptures. A visit to one of the biggest and oldest mosques in Caucasus “Blue mosque, which is situated in the heart of Yerevan city. Have dinner and Overnight in Yerevan. 

Day 07 Yerevan/Departure (B)


After breakfast, check out and wait at the hotel lobby to be transferred to the airport for your onward destination.
